Represent Neustadt — MitMachMontag, Traumfabrik und co.
english below Halle Neustadt ist geprägt von fremdbestimmter Berichterstattung und Vorurteilen. Das Projekt „Represent Neustadt“ hat das Anliegen, den Stadtteil durch die Augen seiner Bewohner*innen darzustellen und eine selbstbestimmte Repräsentation fördern. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Nachbarschaftstreff Grüne Villa und Passage 13 wurden Beteiligungsformate für Kinder und Jugendliche entwickelt und durchgeführt. Stop-Motion-Filme, Poster und Sticker – Kreativworkshops boten den Teilnehmer*innen eine Plattform, ihre Meinungen auszudrücken und zu einer vielfältigeren und authentischeren Darstellung ihres Stadtteils beizutragen. Im Projekt hinterfragen wir, wie wir gestalten: Der persönliche Austausch und Prozess wird wichtiger als das Ergebnis, das klassische Designverständnis weicht den individuellen Bedürfnissen und der Interaktion zwischen Menschen.

Halle-Neustadt is characterised by externally determined reporting and prejudices. The ‘Represent Neustadt’ project aims to portray the district through the eyes of its residents and promote self-determined representation. Participation formats for children and young people were developed and implemented in collaboration with the Grüne Villa neighbourhood meeting place and Passage 13. Stop-motion films, posters and stickers - creative workshops offered participants a platform to express their opinions and contribute to a more diverse and authentic representation of their neighbourhood. In the project, we scrutinise how we design: The personal exchange and process becomes more important than the result, the classic understanding of design gives way to individual needs and interaction between people.
